OUR PASTOR
William Auther Pinkney, IV, known affectionately as "JR", was earmarked for ministry from birth. In fact, JR often jokes that the day he was born, his parents carried him from the hospital straight to church.
Although he says that jokingly, that's not as far-fetched as it may sound. The youngest son of William Auther III and the late Izetta Pinkney, JR was exposed to the order of the church, the word of God, and gospel music at a very early age.
In 1983 JR accepted Christ into his life. From then until the present God has been cultivating, maturing and elevating JR to be His servant by spreading the word through music, preaching, teaching, and living a life of righteousness.
He is a talented musician and director, and an exciting preacher, whose ministry and willing spirit has endeared him to churches throughtout the area, the Midwest, and the East coast. But to JR, whose he is is far more important than who he is. He realizes that all his help comes from God and that his relationship with God is the most meaningful one in his life. If, however, there is a relationship that can be called second most meaningful, assuredly, it is his relationship with his wife Mary, and his daughters Kayla and Kierra.
Bishop Pinkney's favorite scripture is one that he actually didn't understand very well when he learned it as a child, but years later became like a signpost to guide him throughtout his like...Psalm 1.
OUR CHURCH
We are a church built on Faith and Love. Our motto is "People Buiding People".
We can accomplish our motto by carrying out the commission of evangelism and Christianity to the world, which the Lord Jesus Christ gave to his apostles, confirming with signs following. We stand for all scriptures rightly divided as in 2 Timothy 2:15.
We extend our hand of fellowship to our sisters and brothers of all races and nationalities. We want to share God's love with you by show (living the life) and tell (witnessing).
We are interested in the total life of man, BODY, SOUL, and SPIRIT; this includes the moral, spiritual, emotional, and material needs, locally, nationally, and worldwide.
We ask you to come with all your baggage. Come with an open heart and mind and be willing to go through the process of being changed into a new being according to the Word of God. We will nurture you and God will increase you!
